Community Clean-Up—A community graffiti clean-up day was held in Linden’s Eighth Ward on Saturday, June 14. Councilwoman Michele Yamakaitis and Sgt. William Turbett of the Linden Police Department organized the event. Volunteers from the Linden ROTC and the Eighth Ward Democratic Club, as well as neighborhood children, were on hand. The councilwoman and volunteers painted over graffiti that was tagged on numerous businesses. The business owners donated the paint for the clean-up. The volunteers included Yamakaitis, Turbett, Linden ROTC members Stephen Gonzalez, Maria Fernandes, Brian Gonzalez, Jonathan Cutler, Michael Tyler-Smith, Melissa Quinones, Mitchell Quinones and Manny Rivera, and community volunteers Patti Murgo, Joan Turbett, Richard Giles, Daniel Barbarich, Robert Colish, Luke Yamakaitis, Kevin Retcho, Travis Horsch, Tyler Horsch, Daniel Yamakaitis, Thomas Yamakaitis, and Christopher Zglobicki
