Teacher of the Year—Susan Farrar, a lifelong Rahway resident, is Franklin Elementary School’s teacher of the year. Currently Farrar teaches fourth grade, but she spent many years teaching second grade, as well as kindergartners with special needs. In addition to teaching, she serves on numerous committees. This wonderful honor is recognized by the State of New Jersey, Department of Education, Governor’s Teacher Recognition Program/Educational Services Professionals Program along with the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders. I’m glad to say that i was once her student. I’m not suprised she recieved this title, i am suprised that she did not recieve it earlier.
