Triple Taekwondo Medalist—Ricky Azari of Edison, a second grader at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison trained and participated in six categories at the 2008 Open Taekwondo Championship and the New Jersey AAU Taekwondo State Championship. Azari won three first-place trophies for Olympic Sparring, Form and Board Breaking, and three medals, one Gold, one Silver, and one Bronze, for Olympic Sparring, Form and Point Sparring. In addition, and by virtue of his placement, he qualified to compete in the 2008 National Championships this spring in Florida and Wisconsin and the 2008 AAU Junior Olympic Games this summer in Michigan.
