STATE—New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS), a division of New York Blood Center, is issuing a public appeal for blood due to critically low supplies in area hospitals.

New Jersey Blood Services, which supplies blood services and products to 60 hospitals throughout the state, says that the need for blood has increased beyond seasonal expectations.

Kudos To Clark Squad

Kudos To Clark Squad—Recently, the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad was recognized by NJ Blood Services (NJBS) for its exceptional dedication to saving lives. By hosting blood drives over the past 25 years, the squad is responsible for collecting over 4,200 pints of blood and saving as many 12,000 lives. Here executive director of NJBS, Chuck Grossenbacher, (third from left) congratulates squad members (left to right), Rob Pieretti, Laurie Sheldon, Dave Newby and Lorraine Podraza. Councilman Patrick O’Connor (far right) was also on-hand to laud the group.

CLARK—The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad recently hosted fourth and fifth grade boys from Clark Cub Scout Pack 145 for a training session on first aid procedures and techniques.
