SAYREVILLE—Sayreville native Greg Evigan, well known for his starring roles on “My Two Dads” and “BJ and the Bear,” has his next starring role in the Nov. 8 Hallmark Channel original movie “Mail Order Bride.”
The movie features “Melrose Place” and “One Tree Hill” star Daphne Zuniga as a con artist fleeing from her dangerous boss (Evigan) by posing as her recently deceased friend, a girl who was planning on moving out west to become a mail order bride. But her lies begin to crumble around her when her “fiancé” becomes suspicious and her violent past suddenly arrives on her doorstep.
Evigan, who was recently inducted into the Sayreville War Memorial High School Alumni Hall of Fame for his contributions to the arts, began his career as something of a teen idol, and starred in the original Broadway casts of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Grease.” He went on to star in 13 television series, 12 films, and appeared in more than 56 different TV shows including “Desperate Housewives,” “Melrose Place,” “7th Heaven” and “CSI: Miami.”
An accomplished musician, Evigan plays the piano, drums, and saxophone, and writes in a variety of different styles of music. He is currently mixing a new CD, recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London.
Evigan has also passed his love of performing on to his kids, as his daughter, Brianna, starred in the recent film “Step Up 2 the Streets,” and his son, Jason, is the front man for the band After Midnight Project, who appeared on the “Legally Blonde” soundtrack. His eldest daughter, Vanessa Lee, has also appeared on several TV shows.
