STATE – On Tuesday, more than 550 of the state’s 603 school districts will hold elections where voters express approval or dissent on proposed budgets for the 2009-10 school year and fill about 1,500 school board seats, according to the New Jersey School Boards Association.

Polls are required to be open on April 21 between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. but most offer voting hours from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Check with your district for specific hours and polling places.

Running For A Cause—The First Annual Plainfield Habitat for Humanity 5K Run, which was held on Sunday, April 5, in Plainfield, included participants from The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison: Janissa Delzo of Middlesex, Arturo Martinez of North Plainfield, Devi Mody and her brother, Kush Mody, both of Edison, as well as Antonia deVegh of Plainfield (Upper School Latin teacher) and Jim Fogarty of Clark (Varsity Track & Field Coach).
