COLONIA—Ever since Cheryl Coen, a geography teacher at Colonia Middle School, saw the “Paper Clips Project” honoring Holocaust victims, she wanted to try her own project that would be just as effective in illustrating to her students what six to 11 million objects actually looks like.

“To say that six million Jewish citizens and five million non-Jewish citizens were murdered during the Holocaust is one thing, but to really see that number of objects places it into perspective” said. Coen. Her only problem with the “Paper Clips Project” was figuring out what to do with the paper clips once they have been collected and displayed.
