UNION COUNTY—Law enforcement officers from the Union County Police Department will be cracking down on unbuckled motorists and their passengers as part of the National “Click It or Ticket Campaign”.
Beginning May 19 and running through June 1, county police and local police agencies throughout Union County will conduct a zero tolerance seat belt enforcement campaign and will issue tickets to motorists who are not buckled up. This high publicity law enforcement effort gives people more of a reason to buckle-up, the threat of a traffic ticket. Most people will buckle-up for safety but for some, it is the threat of the ticket that convinces them to buckle their seat belt.
